About
Triptico, formerly known as A Limine, was initially created by Alejandro and Gabriel Valdivia in 2005. But it wasn't until late 2007 that the project became "Triptico" with the addition of their permanent drummer James Ferrell.
Triptico's sound can be defined as a very eclectic alternative-rock-funk. They will not cease to amaze their audience, always mixing in a little bit of everything, including classic rock, blues, rock 'n roll, jazz, reggae, funk, hard rock, fusion, and lots of jamming. They compose music both in English and Spanish, attempting to unite both cultures with the universal language that is music. By doing so, Triptico is always attracting new crowds of all ages and ethnical backgrounds.
Furthermore, Triptico believes in the free expression of music as an artform and is continuously defending its rights. With over three hours of original material, Triptico has performed in venues such as The Masquerade, The Orpheum, Boomerz Ballroom, Skipper’s Smokehouse, Pegasus Lounge, The Market, and more. Also, the band has made appearances on WMNF's Latino 54 and has performed at Summerfest 2008 where they opened for Tito Puente Jr.
In 2009, Triptico was voted Tampa Bay's Best Band in TBT's Ultimate Band contest. Later in the year, Triptico opened for the legendary band War. Currently, the band is working on their debut album; a double disc album featuring 22 songs divided equally between English and Spanish.
